So I had decided to purchase a can seamer as I was seeing everyone canning. I started to think, Cans aren’t reusable but are recyclable and it will make it easier to share my home brews in cans vs bottles. I really hate having to clean all those bottles a few times, once when I get them back, than again when I go to use them. Its pretty time consuming and thought cans will take away one of those steps at the cost of a can, 8). I have been have been debating purchasing a can seamer for a while now and looked at them all. What my ultimate decision was with Oktober<\/a> they use US cans and the Cannular<\/a> uses foreign cans, which means no matter what you need to ship them in. Then Oktober released the Drill powered and using their 4 payment system I purchased with a big box of 16oz cans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the can seamer arrived I quickly had to try it out and was pretty cool to be able to seam a can. I had to really think how would I fill the cans and do I need to purchase anything to do this. I looked at the beer guns and thought that would be nice but then decided I was going to see what I had around to make a filler as I just spend $600 lets hold off for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a counter pressure filler for bottles and thought this was a great start. I can use it to flush the cans and then fill, not under pressure. So I went down that path and it worked out pretty good but the downside was my back didn’t like the setup so I had to try and adapt my system to make it simple and relaxing to do. Noticed as the keg was getting low, I’d short pour the can until I dropped the PSI on the keg down a little more. Just something I noticed and need to keep an eye on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Id definitely recommend this setup and so happy I purchased. After this past weekend going to a party and bring beer and not worrying about grabbing all the bottles. Onto the next brew. 8)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
