As always the night before I gathered my 7.3 gallons of water and tossed in my salts and setup the Anvil to heat the water up at 5am so when I wake up at 6am the water will be almost at temperature. I also milled the grains in perpetration for tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

@6:10am added in the grains and started the timer @6:13am also reduced power to 75%. @6:45 I gave the grain bed a good stir to ensure better conversion. I don’t go all the way through the bed but a good 3\/4 of the way through. @7:06am cranked the Anvil up to 100% and 168F(75.5C) to mash out. @7:22am pulled the grain basket and cranked the Anvil up to 212F(100C). @7:35am pulled and tilted the grain basket in order to allow all the wort to drain out. Pulled a wort sample to cool down and take a reading on. Received a specific gravity of 1.039sg. @8:00am 200F(93.3C) I pulled my typical 2 cups of hot break off the top. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

@8:10am the boil started and started the timer. No additions till 30 minutes into the boil. Added the additions per the recipe. @9:24am added in the wort chiller and ran out my lines. @9:40am tossed the rest of the hops in after shutting off the burner and then turning on the chiller and pulled a gravity sample of 1.043SG. @10:15am the wort was down to 77F(25C) and transferred to the fermentor. While transferring to the fermentor I aerated the wort with a pump and HEPA filter. @10:20am I pitched the yeast and the wort was 75F(23.8C). Placed fermentor in my chamber set to 67F(19.4C).
