BREWDAY – 8-10-2020

So I have brewed a few beers that I didn’t log here as I was having issue with my computer and just got really busy with everything, plus going away to camp for the weekend. Good times

Well today i’m going to brew up Homebrewsupply.com New Belgium Fat Tire Clone. It also going to be split kegging up a homebrewsupply.com Yuengling Traditional Lager Clone. Here is the brewday for that.

I put get a little setup and testing out https://www.fermentrack.com/ Once i’m done there Ill talk more about that. 8)

Mashed in. I’m playing around with getting better efficiency as well so added grains and really stirred them up for a few minutes. Let them rest and did it again, let them sit and I hooked up the pump. Waited for 5 minutes and than Ill turn the pump on. And every 15 mins, I will stir the top section of the grain.

A little disappointed I only came in at 1.042 pre boil and wanted 1.049. Ill figure out what is the best way to brew on this machine. I need to do a bunch of the same beers back to back.

Boil went as they always do and added hops per schedule.

Cooled down and pushed to fermenter. Its pretty hot so had to put in the keezer to get down to the 68 degree pitching temp. Ill come back later to pitch.

Pitched the yeast at 9:15pm and at 5:00 the next morning no activity yet. Hopefully when I get home from work it would have kicked off.

UPDATE 8-17-2020 : Came back and the FG came in at 1.006. Cold crashed and will package tomorrow.
