So was doing the weekly food shopping and decided to see if I can make a Melomel from all grocery store ingredients. To step it back the idea stemmed from watching the HomeBrewKing on TikTok. With that said, I was able to find everything I needed at the store.
Put 2 cups of RO water into a pan and added 1 Tbs of yeast nutrient, brought that to a boil. As that was coming to a boil I added my two jugs of honey(3lbs) in a hot bath to allow them to flow very easily. Added the juice to a 1 gallon fermentor, added 2.5 lbs of the honey and then added in the yeast nutrient slurry I just made. Topped off with more RO water and got a reading of 1.106. Put an air lock in place and placed it under my cabinet to ferment. Because of the clear jar you want to keep the sun light out of it.
Overall the quickest brew day, about 30 mins all said and done. Can’t wait to try it.
