Got to say these are fun doing these one gallon batches. They don’t take much time and a good get together in a month or two we will be sampling a bunch of different flavors. Last week I have picked up this blueberry juice and another 3 lbs of honey. I still have a few more champagne yeast packets so I’ll be using that.
After letting the honey sit in a hot bath for a little bit I squeezed 2.5 lbs of honey into the 1 gallon jar. While I was doing that I was also heating up 2 cups of water and added in 1/2 tsp of yeast nutrient. Once it hit a boil I shut off the burner and let the pan sit for a few minutes. Tossed in the juice and then added in the warm water and shook all up to get everything mixed up. Took a gravity reading of 1.098 which should yield about a 12.5% alcohol but will see. Pitched the yeast and put away in my mead cabinet. 8)
